Barcelona transfer news: Antoine Griezmann move prompts surprise claim from ESPN pundit | Football | Sport
Those are the thoughts of ESPN pundit and French football expert Julien Laurens.
Barcelona are thought to be the frontrunners for Griezmann’s signature.
After toiling at the Nou Camp as well as being hit by injury problems, Ousmane Dembele’s long-term future seems to be far from secure.
As far as Griezmann is concerned, Manchester United have been long-standing admirers and they tried to land him last summer before the Frenchman committed to a new deal with Atletico Madrid.
Laurens thinks Griezmann’s current release clause is a bit of a “bargain”.
When asked about his valuation, he told ESPN FC: “Of course he’s worth 100m euros. It’s almost a bargain.
“It’s not just Barcelona who think they can accommodate all their attacking players, but I reckon Real Madrid and other big clubs should go after him.”
Griezmann meanwhile, was quick to dispel suggestions last week he has a deal in place to join Barcelona.
He said: “I want to travel to Russia without this concern. It’s not about knowing where I’ll play, but about having the peace of mind if I’m still in one place or another.
“It may be boring, but I have told my sister that, whether I stay or not, this will have to be resolved beforehand.
“What bothers me the most is that everyone asks me about this issue.”
